CCF and 26 National Groups Weigh in on Arkansas Medicaid Waiver Proposal

A diverse list of 26 national groups submitted comments to federal CMS on the pending Arkansas “private option” Section 1115 Medicaid waiver.  We wrote the letter with our colleagues at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.

The groups ranged from the Children’s Defense Fund, the National Women’s Law Center, Families USA, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, SEIU, to the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network. The letter starts out by saying:

“We fully support Arkansas’ decision to accept federal Medicaid funding to move forward with the extension of coverage to low-income parents and adults. However, we do have concerns with specific aspects of the proposal that can and should be addressed during the approval process.”

I also did a longer set of more comprehensive comments with my colleagues Joe Touschner from CCF and Judy Solomon at CBPP. You can see them here and I will blog again when I have a bit more time about the main points….
