1: Income eligibility levels noted are in effect as of January 2008 and expressed as a percentage of the 2007 Federal Poverty Level (FPL), without regard to income disregards or deductions.
2: Income eligibility levels for children's Medicaid includes SCHIP-funded Medicaid expansions; separate SCHIP programs are shown under children’s SCHIP. In Vermont, Medicaid covers uninsured children in families with income at or below 225% FPL; uninsured children in families with income between 226% and 300% FPL are covered under a separate SCHIP program. Underinsured children are covered under Medicaid up to 300% FPL. This expansion of coverage for underinsured children was achieved through an amendment to the state’s Medicaid Section 1115 waiver. 
3: Pregnant women's income eligibility levels are shown for regular Medicaid and SCHIP (through the unborn child option). In Vermont, a premium is required from women with income above 185% FPL.
