State Update: Utah Ensures Open SCHIP Enrollment
On March 19, Governor Huntsman (R) signed into law
HB 326
which requires that the state keep enrollment in the state’s SCHIP
program open. SCHIP open enrollment in Utah has been irregular in the
past, beginning in December 2001, when the state first capped
enrollment. With the passage of HB 326, any eligible child that applies
for the program is now guaranteed coverage.
