Republican states, Arizona and Ohio, were denied their Medicaid waivers, because the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services had denied changes similar to those several times. Joan Alker, the executive director of Georgetown University’s Center for Children and Families, mentioned that it indeed the Republican party (and states) and Medicaid are not in the best terms.
