Arizona, according to a study by the Center for Children and Families, is one of the states with the highest rate of uninsured children, because it does not have an active version of the CHIP program. Once they make changes to this, the state would be receiving $75 million – just in economic benefits – by restoring KidsCare’s program to increase healthcare coverage to more than 30,000 children.

Arizona is the only state in the nation that does not have an active version of the Children’s Health Insurance Program. The state has the third highest rate of uninsured children, trailing only Alaska and Texas, according to research by Georgetown University.
