U.S. Reaches Historical Milestone In Number Of Uninsured Children

According to the new report by Georgetown University’s Center for Children and Families, 95% of the nation’s children are insured as of 2015. Within this historical mark, 41 states have all increased their children insurance rates, and much of the progress is attributed to Medicaid and CHIP under the Affordable Care Act.

The Georgetown University Center for Children and Families 50 state report found that 41 states reduced their child uninsured rates between 2013 and 2015 after Affordable Care Act provisions took effect.

“This is a testament to what can be achieved when national and state leaders work together to confront intolerable problems such as children going without health coverage in our country,” said Georgetown University CCF Executive Director Joan Alker.
