Finish Line

Insuring America’s Children: Getting to the Finish Line was created by the David and Lucile Packard Foundation to engage state and national partners in improving health care coverage for children.   Finish Line is a collaborative effort between Georgetown University Center for Children and Families, state-based children’s health care advocates, Spitfire Strategies, and the foundation.  Since Finish Line was launched in 2007, 1.3 million more children have secured health care coverage bringing the uninsured rate for children to historic lows.  Finish Line has proven to be a successful model of fostering state-based efforts and supporting a broader national movement by applying lessons learned through select state coverage initiatives.

The Georgetown University Center for Children and Families (CCF) actively engages with Finish Line grantees in twelve states on strategies to improve health care coverage for children and families.  CCF also shares its expertise with many other organizations and policymakers seeking assistance in efforts to move forward on health care coverage initiatives.
