Steeler Nation Wins! (Super Blog-Off)

So what if the “Lombardi” is going home to Green Bay, Steeler Nation fans brought home the first Say Ahhh! Super Blog-Off trophy (naming rights still up for grabs).   As loyal Say Ahhher’s know, we sponsored a “friendly” competition between Packer Backers and the Steeler Nation to see which group displayed more enthusiasm for efforts to connect uninsured kids to health care coverage.

Both teams proved to be extremely supportive and broke all records for  comments on our blog.  The final score was Pittsburgh 56 – Green Bay 30.  Steeler fans attribute their success to their fearless leader, Reverend Sally Jo Snyder and her special team (babies swaddled in Terrible Towels).

Here are some of the highlights:

  • “Sally shreds the cheese.”
  •  “Pittsburgh takes football very seriously. I believe that we should also take the care of our children just as seriously.”
  • “Just think, there may be the next Ben or Troy or James out there, yet, sadly they are denied playing football because they don’t have health insurance!  For the sake of a growing and glorious Steelers Nation — Do your part to make sure EVERY KID IS COVERED.”

And this Green Bay fan summed up the incredible work by Michael Jacob quite well:

  • “GO PACKERS and congrats to their talented, witty and resourceful spokesperson, Mr. Michael Jacob!! Regardless of the outcome of the Super Bowl (did I just put that in writing?), Wisconsin’s families are winners because of the hard work of Michael and Wisconsin’s many advocacy organizations.”

Our condolences to Green Bay fans who were looking forward to taking home the Super Blog-Off Trophy.  At least you have a consolation prize. It’s a good thing that all those injured Packer’s had health insurance coverage so they could make such a spectacular comeback this season. And congratulations on the new baby cheese-head born on Super Bowl Sunday – Jarius Wynn Junior.  (Just try to keep Sally Jo and her Terrible Towels away from him.)

Thank you to both bloggers and the fans who made our first ever Super Blog-Off such a success.  Let’s keep that energy going for Connecting Kids to Coverage!

(Editor’s Note: If you haven’t joined the Connecting Kids to Coverage Challenge yet, check-out Challenge.gov to see how organizations like Michael’s and Sally Jo’s are stepping up to the challenge and sharing their ideas with one another.)
