A study by Georgetown Universty’s Center for Children and Families reported that Alabama has the lowest rate in the South for uninsured children. In 2013, 4.3 percent of children did not have health coverage, which ranked Alabama 10th best among the states.
The director of the Georgetown Center, Joan Alker, says Alabama is the star of the South when it comes to making sure children have the health care they need to succeed.
