Recent studies by the Center for Children and Families at the Georgetown University Health Policy Institute, revealed that progress in reducing the number of uninsured children has slowed, despite the numerous efforts states have done to decreases the rate of uninsured children.
The rate of uninsured children across the nation is about seven percent. Yet, the rate of uninsured Hispanic children remains disproportionate. Florida ranks 44th out of the 50 states in covering children with health insurance.
