KidsCare program’s frozen in Arizona, making this state the only state without Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). Based on a report by the Georgetown University’s Center for Children and Families, this lead to more than 160,000 uninsured children – making Arizona the 2nd highest rate for uninsured children.

As you know, the Cover Kids Coalition is supporting efforts to unfreeze the KidsCare program in Arizona, currently the only state in the country without a Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). A recent study by Georgetown University and Children’s Action Alliance found more than 160,000 Arizona children do not have health coverage, the second highest rate of uninsured kids in the nation.
