According to the new report by Georgetown University’s Center for Children and Families, the rates of insured children nationwide reached a historical high of 95%. Florida, also, reached a historical high of 92.5% insured children. Florida’s CHAIN CEO, Mark Pafford, mentioned that the state still has room for children insurance improvement.
Joan Alker, the executive director of the Center for Children and Families and co-author of the report, mentioned that Florida has made a lot of progress, but still needs more work to cover those remaining uninsured children.

The report, by the Georgetown University Center for Children and Families, declares the percentage of children nationally who have health insurance is now at 95.2 percent, an all-time high.
“Florida was among the 41 states making progress in reducing its uninsured rate for children but there are still quite a few uninsured children living in Florida, and more work is needed to reach them,” Joan Alker, executive director of Georgetown University CCF, said in the release.
