Arizona’s KidsCare Insurance Program Could Be At Risk If Congress Doesn’t Act

The Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) is set to expire this Saturday if Congress fails to act.

In Arizona, it’s called KidsCare, and it covers nearly 22,000 kids. But, without action from Congress by the Sept. 30 deadline, those children’s coverage — and 9 million others around the country — could be at risk.

We spoke with Joan Alker, executive director of the Georgetown Center on Children and Families, for more about this.
