An analysis of Mississippi’s proposal for Medicaid work requirements shows it would hit African-American mothers and families living in small towns and rural areas the hardest, according to a report released Tuesday. Mississippi Health Advocacy Program held press conferences across the state to release the report compiled by the Georgetown University Health Policy Institute Center for Children and Families. In Tupelo, the press conference was held by CATCH Kids, which offers school and community based clinics in Lee, Pontotoc and Chickasaw counties staffed by volunteer health care providers.
