Incomes Rose While the Poverty and Uninsured Rates Declined Last Year

For the second year in a row, household incomes rose across the nation, while the poverty and uninsured rates continued to decline, according to new data released Tuesday by the U.S. Census Bureau.

“We’re really pleased to see that in 2016, the ACA continued to boost health insurance coverage in Texas,” said Anne Dunkelberg with the CPPP. “But too many hard-working, low-income Texans are still left uninsured, and the long-lasting effects of Hurricane Harvey have now created new needs among Texas families.”
